Dr SU is a vertical Bedhead Services Trunking System designed specifically for LDRP/Delivery rooms (Delivery Room Service Unit).

With the capacity for a full range of patient care services within a neat and stylish enclosure, where unsightly services are partially concealed from view, thus giving a homely and domestic feel to the overall environment. This requirement of HBN 21 has never before been addressed by a singular Bedhead Services Trunking System product.

A vertical wall wash lighting system utilising coloured LEDs or TL5 lamps which can be set and controlled by the expectant parent, simultaneously adds to the ambience of the room. A series of lighting accessories allow co-ordinating room illumination, all in accordance with CIBSE LG2:1989. Using TL5 lamps and gear, the lighting system will provide flicker-free, inaudible operation at all times. A full range of ballasts at 28W, 54W or 80W, fixed output, dimmable or DALI controlled, is available.

Recent changes in the environmental design requirements of LDRP rooms, typified by the recent publication of HBN 21, seek to develop a calming and less clinical environment for both the patient and clinical staff alike.

The Dr SU has been specifically designed with these considerations in mind whilst acting as the sole source of delivery of patient care services within the patient environment.

An unobtrusive ergonomic design with semi concealed services outlets ensures that the room environment has a homely yet functional feel, while portraying a high level of interior design. The display of services, including calming supplementary room lighting that can be varied by the expectant mother to suit her mood at the time, provides a revolutionary concept in the provision of patient care services within the room.

Manufactured from a system of aluminium extrusions with a decorative fascia panel of either wood veneer, laminates or a simple painted finish, the Dr SU can be customised to provide a full range of electrical, nurse call, data & voice, medical gas and communication services for general patient care.

Whether the application is for High Dependency or general ward use, the Dr SU can be configured to suit a variety of applications. It is fully EMC certified and can be incorporated with many of our lighting solutions. In addition, it can be provided with a Medical equipment rail and vertical equipment poles.

The Dr SU has been designed for use within in-patient accommodation, and specifically within maternity wards, including both high dependency and treatment rooms to ensure a uniform approach to the one department.

The Dr SU is most suited to be installed in LDRP rooms where most expectant mothers will spend their entire period of stay and has been designed to contribute substantially towards a homely and domestic feel to the room environment. By having a domestic feel to the product, both mother and her partner are sure to feel at ease in a homely environment where the extent of the clinical facilities are not immediately evident.
