MSU

The Cableflow MSU (medical supply unit) is a vertical Bedhead Services Trunking Column and its applicability and appeal are demonstrated by its clean vertical lines, ability to integrate facia colours and features whilst making services outlets less obtrusive yet accessible. The relevance to a broad range of clinical space types whether in Group 0, 1 or 2 Medical Locations has become more evident since product launch and is now installed in a plethora of in-patient locations.

With the capability and capacity to house a full range of patient care services within a neat and stylish enclosure of variable widths, what are often unsightly services are partially concealed from view yet fully accessible, thus offering opportunity to provide a homely domestic feel to what is otherwise the sterile clinical environment. Addressing this requirements of BS EN ISO 11197 and consequently HTM 08-03 our Cableflow MSU is yet another product at the forefront of compliant bedhead services delivery in for these clinical applications.

The display of services outlets to suit any project environment and volume requirement, including supplementary rear-facing ambient lighting down each side as a project option and programmable RGBY LED’s provides a modern concept in the provision of patient care services where the contribution of illumination to the holistic healing process is now an accepted norm.

Decorative central facia panels with high grade laminate surface finishes from the major suppliers allows the décor to be co-ordinated to an uncompromising standard. Corian© or other solid surface finishes can also be used to increase the longevity in-service of the bedhead.

An all encompassing vertical framework of carefully curved anodised aluminium extrusions provides a high class detail to the physical touch. This vertical detail also supports a variety of ancillary attachment for patient monitors, cable baskets, sphygmomanometers, inflatable pressure cuffs, cannular dispensers, adjustable arm lights etc all complement the main product offer as a combined and co-ordinated clinical solution.

This product is supplied fully factory pre-assembled, optionally pre-wired or pre-gassed, tested and certified to ISO 11197, HTM & HBN guidance and BS 7671 (inc section 710 and its Corrigendum’s).

A simple to install product offer with ease of future adaptation and future decorative updating, MSU offers versatility whether installed on one side of the bed or a dual sided concept. Its compact nature is ideal where wall-space restrictions limit bedhead services product options- until now !

Each CABLEFLOW MSU is manufactured to the highest standards and to a quality expected of a British manufacturer. The inclusion of third party nurse call systems into our bedhead services modules ensures continuum of infrastructure, yet opportunity to benefit from the most up to date containment solutions and remains a key feature of our offering.

Increasing popularity of our Cableflow MSU medical supply unit is evidenced in a recently delivered scheme where the blend of anodised extrusions and wood effect laminate facias delivers a high grade feel to this refurbishment. This approach has enabled a way-finding scheme to be adopted site-wide that use wood grain and shade effects to the finishes of  doors, nurse bases, bedroom furniture and medical supply units rather than solid colours. The principle MSU arrangement remains unchanged but core central boards are varied to suit the décor of the zone being deployed.

Our adaptability was also required for the inclusion of the existing and retained nurse call system in some zones of the scheme whilst a newer more modern system was deployed in the new build areas.

Over bed LED patient reading lights incorporating an ambient uplight were also supplied as part of the product offer as was rear wall wash LED lighting for ambiance and night time observation.

The product was a complete supply and installation offer of factory pre-fabricated, pre-wired and pre-gassed bedheads to suit variable ceiling heights across the retained hospital estate being refurbished.
