Willmott Dixon have completed a new health centre to serve residents in the Western Expansion Area of Milton Keynes which will also provide additional capacity for neighbouring estates.

Cableflow RO-V vertical renal dialysis bedhead services trunking systems were selected to meet primarily the clinical needs, but also the various programme constraints in delivery.

The new unit provides 16 specialist bays equipped with Cableflow bedheads incorporating BBRaun Renal media panels including PEX pipelines for RO water supply,  drainage and additional patient care services for power, examination lighting, nurse call, medical gas & vacuum.

The ‘all in one’ 30,400 sq ft, facility includes consulting rooms, minor surgery and recovery rooms, nurse-led treatment rooms, a pharmacy, ancillary clinical support rooms and multi-purpose/health education rooms to serve around 22,500 people living nearby.

The investment by Milton Keynes Council provides essential clinical support services as the city grows, so residents have the right facilities in place. It is operated by a practice appointed by the Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group and leased to local NHS partners by Milton Keynes Council. The new facilities provide a much-needed renal dialysis unit that negates patients in the Milton Keynes area travelling to Oxford or Aylesbury to see renal specialists, which could have resulted in them taking a two-hour round trip, up to three times a week.
